We’ll See You at the Beacon!
Join us for a pre-launch event and fundraiser for Hallow’s Eve Zine! April 17, 7pm at the Beacon Cinema!
Calling all girls, gays, and theys horror fans, come and get hyped for the forthcoming feminist horror zine Hallow's Eve! In celebration of and in advance of the release of Hallow’s Eve, a biannual feminist horror zine honoring the legacy of the 1986 Japanese magazine Halloween, we propose a community-centered screening and discussion event focused on feminine horror. Hallow’s Eve explores real-life horror and the macabre through the lens of the dark feminine, centering women’s experiences long excluded or flattened within mainstream horror narratives.
The event will take place on the weekend of April 17 at The Beacon Cinema and will feature a screening of Robert Eggers’ The VVitch, a contemporary landmark of feminine horror. The screening will be followed by a moderated panel discussion facilitated by Isabella Von Ghoul, featuring local femme horror creators and dedicated horror fans. Together, the panel will examine themes of grief, ritual, autonomy, and the gendered politics of horror storytelling.
